Former Head Coach will take on a new role with the USL franchise

The Penn FC front office has named former Head Coach Bill Becher as the club’s Technical Advisor. Becher will provide valuable insight and stability to the technical staff as the club begins a new era of professional soccer in the Central Pennsylvania region.

The experience Becher brings to the organization is second-to-none. Serving as Head Coach of the Harrisburg City Islanders for 14 seasons, Becher amassed a career 119-93-67 record, culminating with a USL Cup Championship in 2007, as well as two championship appearances in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Becher has collected an impressive five wins against MLS competition in the U.S. Open Cup and sent nine players to the MLS level.

“It’s been a great run here in Harrisburg,” said Becher. “I’m looking forward to a new challenge in helping the first team to continue to have success both on and off the field. It’s an exciting time in

Harrisburg — the future looks bright and we’re excited going into the 2018 season.”

In his new role Becher will assist the technical staff in player recruitment and development, as well as first team operations.
