Penn FC announced the signing of Calvin Rezende on Wednesday, who will make his USL debut with the Harrisburg franchise. Rezende will join the club for the 2018 season, pending USL and USSF approval.
Rezende comes to Central Pennsylvania after completing a strong campaign with Miami FC of the NASL (2016-17). The 25-year old midfielder had a successful career with the Florida squad, logging 1,436 minutes in 26 appearances over the two-year span. He left Miami FC with an impressive 90% passing accuracy in 2017, a healthy improvement from 80% in 2016.
Before signing with Miami, Rezende had a solid season with the Michigan Bucks of the PDL in 2015; he was an MVP candidate and lead the league in assists.
Rezende brings international experience as well, having trained with Serie B (2012-13), the professional men's team of Crotone, Italy, along with the professional men's team of Cadiz, Spain (2013-14). His college soccer career was spent between University of Virginia and St. Francis University amidst his pursuit of a professional career.
Rezende joins fellow midfielders John Grosh, Jorge Rivera, and Dan Metzger in 2018. The roster is as follows:
