PENN FC TO CLASH WITH LIU IN PRESEASON

Fans to get their first look of the new club in action

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Penn FC is slated to kick off its 2018 preseason campaign on Friday, February 16th against the collegiate side LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds. The match is set to kickoff at 6 p.m. at Lower Dauphin Middle School and is open to the public.

The match gives fans the unique opportunity to not only reconnect with returning players, but also get a glimpse at the new talent coming to the roster. Some key returners for the club are defenders Jake Bond and Tiago Calvano as well as goalkeeper Sean Lewis.

The club has also acquired several notable newcomers in recent weeks such as forward Jorge Rivera and midfielders Dan Metzger and Calvin Rezende.

The Blackbirds come into the match following a successful 2017 campaign in which they advanced to the Northeast Conference Championship game (NCAA), but ultimately fell to the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers in a 5-0 defeat.

Following the conclusion of the match, Penn FC will travel to Wayne, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, February 21st to matchup against their first USL opposition of 2018, in the form of Bethlehem Steel FC. Kickoff at YSC Sports is set for 1:30 p.m.
