Harrisburg, PA – Penn FC has officially announced the signing of midfielder Saalih Muhammad, who will play his first USL season in Harrisburg, pending USL and USSF approval.

Muhammad joins Penn FC after spending the 2017 season with the North American Soccer League Champions San Francisco Deltas. The California native signed with the Deltas in February 2017, after earning the only contract following a tryout comprised of 300 international players.

Before his stint in the Bay Area, Muhammad played in Croatia starting at age 16 from 2011-2013. He later joined the Dinamo Zagreb’s youth academy, with a championship-pedigree that has produced talents such as Real Madrid FC’s Luka Modric.

Muhammad returned to the United States at age 18 to join the Portland Timbers Academy and played with the U.S. National Team’s U20 team before returning to Croatia through 2016.

Muhammad has already made an impact in the Penn FC kit during the 2018 preseason. He scored the opening goal against Bethlehem Steel that gave Penn FC the lead during the interstate rivals’ match up on Feb. 22.

Muhammad joins former Deltas teammate Romuald Peiser in central Pennsylvania for the 2018 USL season.
