Harrisburg, PA – Penn FC has officially announced the signing of forward Tommy Heinemann, pending USL and USSF approval.

Heinemann joins his former San Francisco Deltas teammates Romu Peiser and Saalih Muhammad in Harrisburg, Pa., months after the Deltas won the 2017 NASL Championship. Heinemann converted a penalty kick in the 19th minute against the New York City Cosmos for the first goal of the NASL Championship. The Deltas won the match 2-0.

The St. Louis, Mo. native also reunites with his former coach, Raoul Voss. Heinemann was a member of the Tampa Bay Rowdies from 2015-17 while Voss was an assistant coach.

Heinemann brings postseason experience to Harrisburg. He played 10 playoff games in his NASL career with the Deltas, the Ottawa Fury, and the Carolina Railhawks (now North Carolina FC). He thrived in those games and scored seven goals including two multi-goal matches. The Fury finished as NASL runner-ups in 2015, and Heinemann scored a brace in the championship match. The Railhawks finished as USSF Division II runner-ups in 2010, and Heinemann scored a goal during the second leg of the championship series.

He also logged 43 caps in the MLS. Heinemann played 29 matches for the Columbus Crew during the 2011-12 seasons. He then played 14 matches for the Vancouver Whitecaps during the 2013 season.

Heinemann played collegiately at NCAA Division II Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. He was a two-time All-American while playing for the Hawks.
