HARRISBURG, Pa. - Continuing to build off the momentum from Saturday’s 3-2 victory, Penn FC (3-4-5) continues its home stand against the Richmond Kickers (4-6-1) at FNB Field on Tuesday, June 12.

Rush Soccer’s First Team captured three crucial points after Jerry Ortiz found the back of the net by rifling a shot to the left side of the goal on a penalty kick in the fading moments of stoppage time.

Team Captain Ken Tribbett -- Penn FC’s new leading scorer -- netted a brace prior to Ortiz’s goal which helped lift the team to victory. The Blue and White’s skipper knows the importance of the upcoming match with Richmond.

“It’s huge, we need all six points (from this homestand),” Tribbett said. “We got three from Saturday and we need three more on Tuesday. It doesn’t matter that we have a quick turnaround, we have the players to do it, and I expect us to get it done.”

The Kickers were also in action on Saturday, and they earned a convincing 2-0 win against the Charleston Battery at home. Richmond took a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute and added an insurance goal in the 90th minute.

The matchup between Penn FC and Richmond Kickers also serves as a rematch from their meeting in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup last month. The Kickers knocked Penn FC out of the tournament with a 3-2 victory in Richmond, Va.

Midfielder Jerry Ortiz believes the win against Toronto FC II will provide a spark against the Kickers.

“We are taking this as motivation and self-confidence for the team,” Ortiz said. “We know that we have another important game next Tuesday at home, so we will look to win again -- the same as Saturday.”

With Penn FC and Richmond neck and neck in the USL Eastern Conference standings, Head Coach Raoul Voss iterated the importance of Tuesday’s match.

“They're a dangerous team,” Voss said. “They just won against Charleston; a good, solid team and in the standings, we're so close next to each other, so it's going to be a very tight battle I believe."

The match on Tuesday is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kick off. The first 80 fans through the gates on Tuesday will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Wilco-Electric. Tickets for the match are available at www.pennfc.com/tickets.
